On Monday the Illinois House of Representatives passed two bills:
1. Paycheck Fairness Act: to "allow gender-based pay discrimination victims to sue for more money and require employers to meet a higher standard to justify pay disparities."
2. Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009 -- "allow courts to consider each new paycheck as a new instance of discrimination."
I'm proud to say my rep (Janice Shakowski) voted "yes" on both.
On a side note...I love that Blago had to swear in the same people that will eventually vote on whether to throw him out of office. Toupe'! I mean Touche'!
